Membership Information
Umpqua Basin Water Association is a private non-profit water district. We are a member owned Co-Op. Since the formation of the Association back in 1965 UBWA has continued to grow and serve many areas within our boundary where water was not available. In today’s climate, many people that have previously had wells have lost or are close to losing that source of water. Many wells have turned sulphuric, or salty in nature, or have a host of other issues that does not allow people to use that source as a main source for drinking and bathing. Also, due to funding restrictions a well must meet strict criteria before a person can secure a loan to build or live at that residence.
UBWA serves about 100 square miles of area. This means that if we are not directly in your area we may be close by. Many individuals have extended some of the Associations mainlines so that they and their neighbors can have availability of fresh clean water.
At the end of 2022 we had a membership base of 3539 members.
The current cost of a 5/8″ x 3/4″ membership is $3,500.00. If you need a meter size in excess of the 5/8″ x 3/4″, then please visit the Rates and Fees page of this website.
Every year the Association holds an annual membership meeting in March, on the 3rd Thursday of the month unless otherwise noted in the annual “On Tap” newsletter. During this meeting, there is an update on the Associations membership base, past current and future projects, and the Board of Directors hold the election of officers for director positions that have come to term.
Every year just prior to the annual meeting, we send out a newsletter called “On Tap”. This newsletter has the information that will be discussed at the annual meeting. “On Tap” is sent out with the February billing. If you did not get your “On Tap” newsletter in the mail you can download the current and past copies below. Just click on the link and you can either read the report of your choice online or download it for viewing later.5
